The right partner changes everything.

Communications leaders are being asked to do a lot.

Think strategically. Advise leadership. Know your audiences. Protect the reputation. Tell the story. Keep up with what’s changing. And somehow get all the work done, too.

Light Advisors can help.

I can think with you at the senior level and get into the work. We might talk through a challenge, gut-check an idea or figure out what deserves your attention—and then turn those decisions into action. I’m a strategist and a tactician, and I genuinely like being both.

I also know you may need more than one person can do. Light Advisors is plural because I draw from a trusted circle of writers, designers, speech coaches, media strategists, storytellers, researchers and other communications talent I’ve come to know over the years. When we need more hands or different expertise, I can bring in the right people and help oversee the work, so you don’t have to build and manage a team of freelancers yourself.

The result is more senior thinking and more capacity around you, with one trusted partner who knows your world and cares about quality and resonance. So you can spend more of your time on the things that only you can do—and maybe have a little more of your life back, too.

MEET LAURA

Laura Lowery is a strategic communications advisor, writer and creative partner to leaders.

As founder of Light Advisors, she works alongside executives, founders and communications leaders as a trusted advisor, helping you think strategically, make smart decisions and turn your ideas into communications that resonate.

Her work blends communications strategy and counsel, emotionally intelligent writing and storytelling, with creative capabilities. She listens closely, asks thoughtful questions, sees the bigger picture and is equally comfortable in the details.

For more than two decades, Laura has helped high-profile leaders at organizations—from Fortune Global 500 companies to early-stage startups—build communications that engage, inspire, and endure. Her experience has resulted in media engagements and ghost-authored pieces for her clients in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Fast Company, Business Insider, Harvard Business Review, NPR, Marketplace, Today Show, CNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC and more.

Prior to founding Light, she served as head of creative at a global strategic communications firm. She is also founder and publisher of Lucia, an award-winning print women’s journal created to inspire and enlighten the world by giving voice to the heart and celebrating true beauty.

Grounded, curious, and intuitive, Laura brings more than communications expertise to her work—she has a gift for hearing what’s beneath the conversation, seeing patterns and possibilities, and moving easily between big-picture strategy and putting words on the page. She helps leaders hear their own inner wisdom and voice more clearly—and trust it.

She lives in the Pacific Northwest, with one foot in Seattle and the other on Orcas Island, where she grows dinnerplate dahlias, meditates, and pays attention.

The right partner can change your work.

The best partnerships are built on trust, curiosity, and a willingness to think together—plus consistent presence and attention to your goals. If you’re looking for an experienced communications advisor who will listen closely, tell you what she thinks and help you move the work forward, I’d love to hear what’s on your mind.
